  • Where Are Dinosaur Fossils Found Across the United States? An In-Depth Overview

More kinds of dinosaur fossils have been discovered in the United States than in any other country in the world. As of 2010, dinosaur fossils have been found in 35 states. The Southwest and Western Mountain states can claim the most discovery sites, but dinosaur fossils have been found as far north as Alaska, as far east as the mid-Atlantic states and as far south as Alabama.

Of the New England states, Massachusetts and Connecticut are the only states where dinosaur fossils have been found.

In Massachusetts, fossils or tracks of three kinds of dinosaurs have been found: Anchisaurus, Podokesaurus and Theropod.
