In mathematics and everyday data analysis, aggregate refers to the total sum of a set of similar items. A common example is aggregate scoring in soccer, where a team’s goals from both home and away legs are added together to determine the winner.
Decide what you want to sum. For instance, a student taking a multi‑section exam might want to know the combined score of all sections.
Write each individual value. In our example, the student scored 45, 30, and 10 on the three sections.
Simply sum the listed figures: 45 + 30 + 10 = 85. The result, 85, is the student’s aggregate score.
This straightforward method can be applied to any scenario where you need a total—whether in education, sports, finance, or project management.
