A large body of water on the Earth's surface is called an ocean.

There are five major oceans:

* Pacific Ocean (the largest and deepest)

* Atlantic Ocean (the second largest)

* Indian Ocean (the third largest)

* Southern Ocean (surrounding Antarctica)

* Arctic Ocean (the smallest and shallowest)
