  • Virginia Peninsulas: Exploring Coastal Regions & Geographic Features
Virginia doesn't have any peninsulas named as such. However, there are several areas that could be considered peninsulas:

    * The Virginia Peninsula: This is the most common name used to refer to the area between the York River and the James River. It includes the cities of Williamsburg, Hampton, Newport News, and Yorktown.

    * The Northern Neck: This is a peninsula between the Potomac River and the Rappahannock River. It includes the counties of Northumberland, Lancaster, Richmond, Westmoreland, and Essex.

    * The Eastern Shore: This is a peninsula between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. It includes the counties of Accomack and Northampton.

It's important to note that "peninsula" is not a formal geographical designation in Virginia, and these areas are often referred to by other names, such as "regions" or "areas."
