  • Jupiter's Composition: Gas Giant or Something More?
Jupiter is primarily made up of gas.

While it has a small, solid core, the vast majority of Jupiter's mass is composed of hydrogen and helium, the same elements that make up the Sun.

It's important to note that even though Jupiter is a gas giant, the extreme pressure in its interior compresses the gas into a liquid state.
