    The three major gases that make up air in the atmosphere are:

    1. Nitrogen (N2): This makes up about 78% of the atmosphere.

    2. Oxygen (O2): This makes up about 21% of the atmosphere.

    3. Argon (Ar): This makes up about 0.93% of the atmosphere.

    While these three make up the vast majority of the air we breathe, there are other trace gases present in smaller amounts.
