  • Speed Changes During Water's Phase Transition: Liquid to Gas
Water molecules lose speed when they convert from liquid to gas. This is because the molecules are no longer held together by the strong forces of attraction that exist in the liquid state. In the gas state, the molecules are much further apart and have much more energy, so they move more quickly.
