  • Protein Synthesis: The Journey from Nucleus to Ribosomes
The information that controls the production of proteins must pass from the nucleus to the ribosomes.

    Here's why:

    * DNA in the nucleus: The nucleus contains DNA, which holds the genetic code for building proteins.

    * Transcription: The DNA code is copied into messenger RNA (mRNA) within the nucleus.

    * Translation: The mRNA then travels out of the nucleus to the ribosomes in the cytoplasm.

    * Protein synthesis: Ribosomes use the mRNA instructions to assemble amino acids into protein chains.

So, the nucleus provides the blueprint, and the ribosomes are the construction workers that build the proteins!
