  • Cell Membrane: The Protective Barrier of the Cell
    Protoplasm is enclosed within a cell membrane, sometimes called the plasma membrane.

    This membrane acts as a barrier, controlling what enters and exits the cell, while also providing structural support and maintaining the cell's shape. It's not exactly "skin-like" in the same way as our skin, but it does serve a similar function in protecting the cell's contents.
