  • Minnesota Biomes: Exploring Temperate Deciduous Forest & Grassland
The two biomes closest to Minnesota are:

    1. Temperate Deciduous Forest: This biome covers most of Minnesota and is characterized by trees that lose their leaves in the fall, such as oak, maple, and birch.

    2. Temperate Grassland: While not covering a huge portion of Minnesota, the prairie regions in the western and southwestern parts of the state fall into this biome. They are characterized by grasses and wildflowers with fewer trees.

While Minnesota mainly falls under the Temperate Deciduous Forest, the transition zone between the two biomes creates a diverse ecosystem with elements of both.
