  • Anaerobic Respiration: Lactic Acid & Alcoholic Fermentation Explained
    1. Lactic acid fermentation: This type of anaerobic respiration is used by many bacteria and some animal cells. In this process, glucose is broken down into lactic acid. This process is used in the production of yogurt and cheese, as well as in muscle cells when they are deprived of oxygen.

    2. Alcoholic fermentation: This type of anaerobic respiration is used by yeasts and some bacteria. In this process, glucose is broken down into ethanol (alcohol) and carbon dioxide. This process is used in the production of beer, wine, and other alcoholic beverages, as well as in baking and brewing.
