The astronomer who described Earth as the center of the universe was Claudius Ptolemy. He proposed the geocentric model, which placed Earth at the center of the universe with the Sun, Moon, and other planets revolving around it. This model was the dominant view for nearly 1,500 years until it was challenged by Nicolaus Copernicus and his heliocentric model.
