* Resolution: The Hubble telescope has incredible resolution, but it's still limited. It can resolve objects about the size of a football field on the moon. The American flag planted on the moon is much smaller than that.
* Distance: The moon is incredibly far away. Even with the Hubble's powerful optics, the flag would be just a tiny blur.
* Lighting: The moon's surface is often brightly lit by the sun, making it hard to distinguish small, dark objects like the flag.
* Deterioration: The flags left on the moon have likely faded and deteriorated due to exposure to the harsh lunar environment.
While Hubble can't see your flag, it has captured breathtaking images of the moon's surface, revealing craters, mountains, and even the landing sites of the Apollo missions.
