  • Why You Can't Land on Jupiter: A Deep Dive
    You can't land on Jupiter!

Jupiter is a gas giant, meaning it's mostly made up of hydrogen and helium. It doesn't have a solid surface like Earth, so if you tried to land on it, you would just sink deeper and deeper into the swirling atmosphere.

Even if you could somehow land on Jupiter, the extreme conditions would make it impossible for humans to survive. The atmosphere is incredibly dense and has powerful winds, and the pressure and temperature would be crushing.

Instead of landing, spacecraft that explore Jupiter usually orbit it, taking measurements and sending back data.
