* In a city with lots of light pollution: You might only see a few dozen stars, maybe even less.
* In a rural area with little light pollution: You can see thousands of stars, possibly up to 2,500 on a perfectly clear night.
* In a truly dark location (like a desert or remote island): You could see over 5,000 stars!
Important Note: It's all relative to how much light pollution there is. The more light pollution, the fewer stars you can see.
