  • Understanding Cloud Formation: The Process of Condensation
The change of state from water vapor to clouds is called condensation. Condensation occurs when water vapor in the air cools and turns back into liquid water. This happens when the air temperature drops below the dew point, which is the temperature at which the air is saturated with water vapor. When the air temperature drops below the dew point, the water vapor condenses into tiny droplets of liquid water, which form clouds.
