  • New Emojis 2023: What's Coming & When to Expect
    Unicode 16.0 was approved in September 2022 and brought with it 31 new emojis. Some highlights include:

    - A shaking face

    - A ginger person

    - A moose

    - A donkey

    - A wing

    - A maracas

    - A flute

    - A fan

    - A pea pod

    - A Wi-Fi symbol

    These emojis are expected to be available on most major platforms by the end of 2023.

    In addition to the new emojis included in Unicode 16.0, there are also a number of new emoji candidates that are under consideration for future versions of Unicode. Some of these candidates include:

    - A sloth

    - A narwhal

    - A kangaroo

    - A jellyfish

    - A butterfly

    - A taco

    - A pizza

    - A cupcake

    - A doughnut

    - A coffee mug

    It is not yet clear which of these candidates will be added to Unicode in the future, but they provide a glimpse into the possibilities for future emoji updates.
