  • Understanding Non-Contact Forces: Gravity, Electromagnetism & Nuclear Forces
Some forces act at a distance and thus do not require physical contact between the objects involved.

    Here are some examples:

    * Gravity: The force of attraction between any two objects with mass. The Earth pulls on you even though you're not touching it.

    * Electromagnetism: This encompasses both electric and magnetic forces. Magnets can attract or repel each other without touching, and electric charges exert forces on each other through electric fields.

    * Nuclear forces: The strong and weak nuclear forces hold the nucleus of an atom together. They act over very short distances, but are still considered distance forces.

Let me know if you'd like to learn more about any of these forces!
