  • Speed of Light: Understanding Electromagnetic Wave Velocity
The speed of electromagnetic waves in a vacuum is approximately 299,792,458 meters per second (m/s). This is often rounded to 3 x 10⁸ m/s, which is a more convenient value for calculations.

This speed is also known as the speed of light (c) because visible light is a form of electromagnetic radiation.
