  • Velocity vs. Speed: Understanding Vector and Scalar Quantities
    Velocity is a vector.

    Here's why:

    * Magnitude: Velocity tells us how fast an object is moving (speed).

    * Direction: Velocity also tells us the direction of the object's motion.

Since it has both magnitude and direction, it fits the definition of a vector.

In contrast, speed is a scalar quantity because it only considers the magnitude (how fast) and not the direction.
