  • Understanding the Relationship Between Frequency and Period in Vibrations
    If you double the frequency of a vibrating object, its period is halved.

    Here's why:

    * Frequency (f) is the number of cycles or vibrations per second (measured in Hertz, Hz).

    * Period (T) is the time it takes for one complete cycle of vibration.

    The relationship between frequency and period is:

    f = 1/T

    or

    T = 1/f

    So, if you double the frequency, you are essentially dividing the period by 2.
