* Velocity is a measure of both speed and direction.
* Speed is how fast something is moving.
* Direction tells you which way something is moving.
Examples of zero velocity:
* An object at rest: If something isn't moving, its speed is zero, and therefore its velocity is also zero.
* An object at the peak of its trajectory: Imagine throwing a ball straight up. At the very top of its flight path, the ball momentarily stops moving before falling back down. At that peak, the ball has zero velocity.
Important Note: While an object can have zero velocity, it can still have acceleration. Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity. So, even if an object is momentarily at rest, it can still be accelerating (like the ball at the peak of its trajectory, which is accelerating due to gravity).
