1. Transparent: Materials that allow light to pass through them almost entirely, with little to no scattering or absorption. We can see clearly through transparent materials. Examples include glass, water, and air.
2. Translucent: Materials that allow some light to pass through, but scatter the light rays, making it difficult to see clearly through them. We can see a blurry or hazy image through translucent materials. Examples include frosted glass, parchment paper, and some types of plastic.
3. Opaque: Materials that block all light from passing through them. Light is either absorbed or reflected by opaque materials. We cannot see through opaque materials. Examples include wood, metal, and thick cardboard.
