  • Free Fall: Do Objects Fall at the Same Time?
No, two objects of the same mass dropped from different heights will not land at the same time. Here's why:

    * Gravity's Constant Acceleration: The force of gravity pulls all objects towards the Earth with the same acceleration, regardless of their mass. This acceleration is approximately 9.8 m/s².

    * Distance and Time: The time it takes an object to fall depends on the distance it has to travel. The object dropped from a higher height will have a longer distance to cover, and therefore will take longer to reach the ground.

    Example:

Imagine you drop a ball from 1 meter and another ball from 10 meters. The ball dropped from 10 meters will take much longer to reach the ground because it has a greater distance to fall, even though both balls experience the same acceleration due to gravity.

Important Note: This assumes we're talking about a vacuum, where there is no air resistance. In reality, air resistance will affect the falling time of objects, especially for objects with a larger surface area or a less dense shape.
