  • Calculating Object Density: Understanding Mass & Volume
    You can't calculate the density with just that information. Here's why:

    * Density is mass per unit volume. The formula for density is:

    Density (ρ) = Mass (m) / Volume (V)

    * You need the volume in cubic centimeters (cm³) not just centimeters (cm). Volume is a three-dimensional measurement.

    To find the density, you need to know the volume of the object in cubic centimeters (cm³).

    Example:

    Let's say the volume of the object is actually 2 cm³. Then the density would be:

    Density = 10 g / 2 cm³ = 5 g/cm³
