  • Aligned Motion: Understanding Collinear Force and Motion
When force and motion are in the same direction, it is called aligned motion or collinear motion.

    Here's why:

    * Aligned: The force and motion are pointed in the same direction, aligning with each other.

    * Collinear: This term emphasizes that the force and motion share the same line of action.

    Examples:

    * Pushing a box: If you push a box forward and it moves forward, the force of your push and the motion of the box are aligned.

    * Gravity on a falling object: Gravity pulls an object downwards, and the object falls downwards, resulting in aligned motion.

Important Note: If force and motion are in opposite directions, it's called opposed motion or negative acceleration.
