  • Understanding Work: Force, Distance, and the Physics Behind It
The product of force applied and the distance moved is work.

    Here's why:

    * Force: A push or pull that can cause a change in motion.

    * Distance: The amount of space an object moves.

When a force causes an object to move a certain distance, we say that work has been done. The amount of work done is directly proportional to both the force applied and the distance moved.

    Formula for Work:

    Work (W) = Force (F) x Distance (d)

    Units of Work:

The standard unit of work is the joule (J), which is equal to one newton-meter (N·m).
