  • Understanding Acceleration: What Changes?
Acceleration involves a change in velocity.

    Here's why:

    * Velocity is a combination of speed and direction.

    * Acceleration is the rate at which velocity changes over time.

So, acceleration can occur in two ways:

    1. Change in speed: A car speeding up or slowing down is accelerating.

    2. Change in direction: A car turning a corner, even at a constant speed, is also accelerating because its direction is changing.
