  • Length: Understanding Scalar Physical Quantities
Length is a scalar physical quantity.

    Here's why:

    * Scalar quantities have only magnitude (size or amount).

    * Vector quantities have both magnitude and direction.

Length only describes how long something is, without any reference to direction. For example, we might say a table is 2 meters long, but we don't specify which direction that length is measured in.

In contrast, displacement, velocity, and acceleration are vector quantities because they have both magnitude and direction.
