  • Efficiently Find the Heaviest Ball: A 2-Weighing Solution
You can determine the heaviest ball in just two weighings. Here's how:

    Weighing 1:

    1. Divide the balls into three groups: Group A (3 balls), Group B (3 balls), and Group C (2 balls).

    2. Place Group A on one side of the scale and Group B on the other.

    Possible Outcomes:

    * Scenario 1: The scale balances. This means the heaviest ball is in Group C (the two balls not weighed).

    * Scenario 2: The scale tips. The heaviest ball is in the group that weighs more.

    Weighing 2:

    * If Scenario 1: Take the two balls from Group C and weigh them. The heavier one is the heaviest ball.

    * If Scenario 2: Take the three balls from the heavier group (from the first weighing) and place any two on the scale.

    * If they balance, the heaviest ball is the one you didn't weigh.

    * If they tip, the heavier ball is the heaviest.
