  • Understanding Gravity: Why Acceleration is Constant Near Earth
The gravitational acceleration of any object near Earth is the same because the force of gravity is directly proportional to the mass of the object and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between the object and the center of Earth. Since all objects near Earth are at approximately the same distance from the center of Earth, the only factor that affects the force of gravity is the mass of the object. Therefore, all objects near Earth experience the same gravitational acceleration, regardless of their mass.
