  • Understanding Force and Acceleration: Newton's Second Law
    Net force creates or increases acceleration.

    According to Newton's second law of motion, acceleration (a) of an object is directly proportional to the net force (F) acting on the object and inversely proportional to its mass (m). The mathematical expression of this law is:

    F = ma

    ```

    Where:

    - F represents the net force acting on the object in newtons (N)

    - m represents the mass of the object in kilograms (kg)

    - a represents the acceleration of the object in meters per second squared (m/s²)

    Net force is the vector sum of all forces acting on an object. If the net force is zero, the object will not accelerate and will continue to move with its current velocity. If the net force is non-zero, the object will accelerate in the direction of the net force.

    To create or increase acceleration, a net force must be applied to the object. The greater the net force, the greater the acceleration will be.
