  • Human Sensory Organs: How We Perceive the World
    The sense organs that send information about the environment to the brain are:

    * Eyes: Detect light and allow us to see.

    * Ears: Detect sound waves and allow us to hear.

    * Nose: Detect chemicals in the air and allow us to smell.

    * Tongue: Detect chemicals in food and allow us to taste.

    * Skin: Detects touch, pressure, temperature, and pain.

    These organs are called sensory organs and they contain specialized cells called sensory receptors that convert environmental stimuli into electrical signals that the brain can interpret.
