  • Trees in Antarctica: Exploring the Frozen Continent's Vegetation
Antarctica is a very harsh environment, with extremely cold temperatures and very little precipitation. As a result, no trees grow in Antarctica.

While there are some flowering plants and mosses, the only woody plants found on the continent are two species of tussock grasses. These tough, low-growing plants are able to survive the harsh conditions and provide a small amount of food for the continent's wildlife.
