  • What is a Biome? Understanding Ecosystem Diversity
An area of multiple ecosystems is called a biome.

    Here's why:

    * Ecosystem: A community of living organisms (plants, animals, fungi, bacteria) and their physical environment interacting as a functional unit.

    * Biome: A large-scale community of organisms characterized by a specific climate and dominant plant and animal life. It encompasses multiple ecosystems within it.

For example, a rainforest biome includes various ecosystems like flooded forests, riverine forests, and canopy ecosystems.
