    * Living things are responsive to changes in their environment. They can sense and react to stimuli, such as light, temperature, and touch.

    5. Homeostasis:

    * Living things maintain a stable internal environment, despite changes in the external environment. This is achieved through a variety of mechanisms, such as temperature regulation and blood sugar control.

    6. Reproduction:

    * Living things produce offspring, ensuring the continuation of their species. This can occur through sexual or asexual means.

    7. Adaptation:

    * Living things evolve over time to better suit their environment. This adaptation allows them to survive and reproduce in changing conditions.

    8. Heredity:

    * Living things pass on their characteristics to their offspring through genetic material (DNA or RNA).

    Important Note:

    * These characteristics are not always absolute and can overlap. For example, viruses show some characteristics of living things (reproduction, adaptation) but lack others (metabolism, cellular structure).

    * Additionally, some non-living things may exhibit some of these characteristics but not all.
