  • India's Climate Zone: Tropical vs. Temperate - Understanding India's Geography
India doesn't lie in a temperate zone. It lies in the tropical zone.

    Here's why:

    * Temperate zones are located between the tropics and the polar circles. They experience four distinct seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

    * Tropical zones are located between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. They experience warm temperatures year-round with minimal temperature variation.

While some parts of India, especially in the Himalayan regions, experience colder temperatures and snow, the majority of the country falls within the tropical zone.
