  • Coniferous Forest Summers: Duration & Adaptation
Summers in the coniferous forest tend to be short, lasting from 1 to 2 months. These forests experience long, cold winters and short, cool summers. The growing season is limited by the cold temperatures and the availability of water. As a result, the trees and plants in coniferous forests have adapted to these conditions by having waxy leaves or needles to reduce water loss and by storing energy in their roots.
