  • UK Recycling Habits: Survey Reveals Popular Green Practices
Recycling favorite activity among Brits says new survey

A new survey has found that recycling is the most popular green activity among Britons, with 92% of respondents saying they recycle regularly. The survey, which was conducted by the environmental charity WRAP, also found that 84% of people compost their food waste, and 79% use energy-efficient light bulbs.

The survey results suggest that Britons are increasingly taking steps to reduce their environmental impact, with many people making small changes to their daily routines in order to make a difference. For example, 76% of respondents said they now walk or cycle instead of driving for short journeys, and 72% said they turn off lights and appliances when they leave a room.

The survey also found that Britons are increasingly interested in learning more about how they can reduce their environmental impact, with 83% of respondents saying they would like to receive more information about recycling and composting. This suggests that there is a real opportunity for businesses and organizations to engage with consumers on these issues and help them to make a difference.

WRAP's chief executive, Marcus Gover, said: "These survey results are very encouraging and show that Britons are taking the issue of climate change seriously. However, there is still more that can be done. We would urge everyone to take a few simple steps to reduce their environmental impact, such as recycling more, composting their food waste, and using energy-efficient light bulbs."

The survey results come as the UK government prepares to publish its new environmental strategy, which is expected to set out a number of measures to reduce the country's greenhouse gas emissions. The government has already committed to reaching net zero emissions by 2050, and the new strategy is expected to set out how this target will be achieved.
