  • Monoliths: Understanding the Single Stone Structure
You can't really determine the number of "stones or rocks" in a monolith because a monolith, by definition, is a single, large block of stone.

    Here's why:

    * Monolith = One Stone: The word "monolith" itself implies a single, massive piece of rock.

    * Structure vs. Composition: A monolith is a geological formation or a structure made from one solid piece of rock, not an assembly of smaller stones.

    Think of famous monoliths like:

    * Stonehenge: While Stonehenge is a complex structure, its individual standing stones are considered monoliths.

    * Easter Island Statues: These are monoliths carved from a single volcanic rock.

So, while you can count individual stones in a structure like Stonehenge, you wouldn't talk about counting stones in a monolith itself.
