* Crust: The outermost layer, like the skin of an apple. It's thin, relatively cool, and made of solid rock. There are two types:
* Oceanic crust: Found under the oceans, it's denser and mainly composed of basalt.
* Continental crust: Makes up the land masses and is thicker and less dense, primarily composed of granite.
* Mantle: The thickest layer, it's like the flesh of the apple. It's mostly solid rock, but it behaves like a very viscous fluid over long periods due to intense heat and pressure. The mantle is made up of silicate minerals like olivine and pyroxene.
* Outer Core: A liquid layer composed mainly of iron and nickel. This is where Earth's magnetic field is generated.
* Inner Core: The Earth's center, solid due to immense pressure. It's also mainly iron and nickel, but it's incredibly hot.
So, the two other layers besides the crust are the mantle and the core. The core can be further divided into the outer and inner core.
