* Lack of Hard Parts: Early life forms lacked hard shells, bones, or teeth that could fossilize easily.
* Rapid Decomposition: Soft tissues decay quickly, making it very difficult for them to be preserved.
* Geological Processes: Precambrian rocks have often been subjected to intense heat and pressure, destroying any potential fossils.
Note: While the Precambrian is known for its lack of abundant fossils, there are some notable exceptions. There are some rare examples of fossilized stromatolites (layered structures formed by microbial mats) and even some trace fossils from early multicellular organisms.
