  • Sedimentary Rock: Earth-Bound Origins and Formation
You can't find sedimentary rock outside of Earth.

    Here's why:

    * Formation: Sedimentary rocks are formed through processes that occur on Earth's surface, like weathering, erosion, transportation, deposition, and compaction. These processes require water, wind, and other forces that aren't found in the vacuum of space.

    * Other celestial bodies: Other celestial bodies, like Mars or the Moon, have very different geological processes that form different types of rock, like igneous and metamorphic rocks.

So, while we might find evidence of past water on Mars, we wouldn't expect to find sedimentary rocks like we do here on Earth.
