  • Granite Grain Colors: Understanding the Composition of Granite
    The biggest grains in a granite are typically light in color. This is because granite is composed of quartz (clear or white), feldspar (white, pink, or grey), mica (black or brown), and other minerals.

    While the mica can be dark, it's usually found in smaller flakes within the granite. The larger grains are usually quartz or feldspar, which are both light-colored.
