  • Continental vs. Oceanic Crust: Composition & Differences
    The Earth's crust is made up of two main types of crust:

    * Continental crust: This is the thicker, less dense crust that makes up the continents. It's mostly composed of granite and other felsic rocks.

    * Oceanic crust: This is the thinner, denser crust that forms the ocean floor. It's primarily composed of basalt and other mafic rocks.
