  • Snow Melting: Understanding the Science of Phase Change
There isn't a specific scientific name for the process of snow melting. It's simply described as melting or phase transition from solid to liquid.

However, the scientific principles behind it are well understood:

    * Heat energy is absorbed by the snow, causing the water molecules to vibrate faster.

    * This increased vibration weakens the bonds holding the molecules in a solid structure.

    * Once enough energy is absorbed, the bonds break completely, and the water molecules transition to a liquid state.

So while there isn't a single scientific name for the process, we can understand it through the scientific concepts of melting, heat transfer, and phase transitions.
