  • Topaz Occurrence: Which Rocks Contain Topaz?
Topaz is typically found in igneous and metamorphic rocks.

    Igneous rocks:

    * Granite: Topaz is commonly found in granite pegmatites, which are coarse-grained igneous rocks with large crystals.

    * Rhyolite: Topaz can also occur in rhyolite, a fine-grained volcanic rock.

    Metamorphic rocks:

    * Schist: Topaz is sometimes found in metamorphic rocks like schist, which are formed under high pressure and temperature.

    Other environments:

    * Greisens: Topaz can be found in greisens, which are altered granite rocks.

    * Hydrothermal veins: Topaz can also be found in hydrothermal veins, which are formed by hot water circulating through rocks.

Note: Topaz is not found in sedimentary rocks, which are formed from the accumulation of sediments.
