  • Where are Fingerprints Found? Understanding Papillary Ridges
Papillary ridges, also known as fingerprints, are found on the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet.

They are also present on the fingers and toes, although these are often referred to as "friction ridges" due to their smaller size and less complex patterns.

It's important to note that these ridges are not found on the entire surface of the hands and feet. They are primarily located on the distal phalanges (the tips of the fingers and toes) and the palmar and plantar surfaces, respectively.
