  • Understanding Beaches: The World's Most Common Coastal Feature
    The most widespread of all coastal depositional features is beach.

    Beaches are found on nearly every coastline in the world and are formed by the accumulation of sediment, primarily sand, deposited by waves and currents. They are a dynamic feature, constantly changing in response to tides, storms, and other natural processes.
