  • Understanding Precipitation: Rain, Snow, and Hail Explained
Here are three types of precipitation:

    1. Rain: This is the most common type of precipitation, consisting of liquid water droplets falling from clouds.

    2. Snow: This type of precipitation occurs when water vapor freezes into ice crystals in the atmosphere and falls as fluffy white flakes.

    3. Hail: This is a form of precipitation that consists of large, solid pieces of ice. Hail forms within strong thunderstorms where updrafts carry raindrops high into the atmosphere, where they freeze.
